Dr. Jacob Burns graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in history. He also received a minor in molecular and cell biology. After earning his undergraduate degree, Dr. Burns attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. As a student, he participated in bacterial lipid research and its relation to periodontal disease. After earning his degree in dental medicine in 2023, Dr. Burns continued his education at Long Island Jewish Medical Center where he completed a general practice residency. While at LIJ, Dr. Burns received extensive experience in managing medically complex patients, treating patients with special needs, treating dental emergencies, and working with patients from an early to advanced age. His hospital care experience fostered an interest in oral systemic disease connections. As a resident, he was recognized for his dedication to patient care where he was nominated for a Northwell Health Truly Award. In addition to these experiences, Dr. Burns had the opportunity to perform numerous complex restorative, prosthodontic, periodontal, and endodontic procedures.
Dr. Jacob Burns currently resides in Tolland. In his free time, Dr. Burns enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He can also be found with a camera taking photos of wildlife.
